Before and Aft
Encountering difficulties with something as minor as building of couple of planters should have given me fair warning about tackling a whole boat. At 51 feet long, my houseboat seemed big when I thought "boat", but small when I thought "house". It's just a question of constructing an addition upstairs.

"Yeah?" warned the kibitzers, "But what if becomes top heavy?"

"Top heavy, Schmop heavy. Who cares? If it's really too top heavy, well, instead of a second story, I end up with a sub-basement. The main thing is to have the extra space." [...Excuse a short interruption here, while I change scuba tanks.

I figured the idea of building onto the boat was fairly simple -- building out to widen the downstairs and then building up an extra story.
